Requirements: Windows Installed, preferably not as VM, makes the USB handling more difficult Windows ISO USB to burn, preferably HDD or SSD, as apposed to flash drive, or U-Disk Rufus Internet (kinda, not required) Either a Windows key, or a way to activate Windows, like KMS38 DISM++ After countless hours of research and investigation, I finally stumbled onto the answer!!!!! Until nowĪt first, I thought this wouldn't be possible when attempting it, but managed to install Win10 to a USB2 HDD, with the internal EFI partition, but, this is then limited to being booted on the one PC. And as such, it's impossible to install windows to an external USB with all your games on said USB, for a holy self-contained gaming, diagnostic, repair, maintenance drive. Certain drivers especially don't work out of the box. The purpose of avoiding ToGo, it is limited by certain software similar to WinPE. Normally that would be correct, but when I saw them having issues using rufus burning ToGo, I thought why not use DISM++ or WinNTSetup built into most WinPE ISOs in the wild? Here's a video of Linus Tech Tips attempting to run Windows on an SD Card, exclaiming ToGo the only way to install windows to an external USB device.
